Physical therapy is a key part of both pre- and post-prostatectomy care—and it's about much more than just Kegels. Strengthening and coordinating your pelvic floor before surgery helps support continence recovery, much like prehab before joint or cardiac procedures. You'll also learn bracing, breathing, and body mechanics to improve mobility and manage pressure after surgery.
Postoperatively, physical therapy is tailored to your symptoms and healing timeline. Treatment may include pelvic floor training, bladder retraining, movement and posture education, return-to-activity training, and techniques to reduce tension and compensation. We use tools like biofeedback, manual therapy, scar mobilization, therapeutic exercise, and fascial release to support your recovery.
